Well January 2024 is already dead and buried. Life comes at you fast, especially as you get older.
Just a quick update for the next few months for people who want to climb aboard as there are still a few gaps to fill.
We right in the middle of summer, and water is 27 deg C. Feb, March and a bit of April we fishing and spearfishing around Silver Fish Lodge, Barra and Pomene (#inhambane) . Still a few gaps for last minute ideas.
April 20 th I'm guiding a Spearfishing group to Nacala, mid Mocambique, to meet up with a fellow Spearfisherman who has lived there for 20 plus years. It's land based, with daily trips out to various spots between 10 and 40 kilometers on rubber ducks. It's got spectacular dropoffs, with deep water close to shore. It will be my first time to this exciting new location, and will report back shortly. I've been wanting to go there for many years, so am fuly amped at this opportunity
29th April we board a 45ft cat, for Pantaloon reef, also known as Primieras and Segundas archepaligo. I've written about this special spot a few times, 74 km of reef out at sea, no land in sight. It's an annual trip, 6 nights liveaboard, 5 full days fishing and or spearfishing!
Epic trip with plenty of fish..... Many species, but we always look for the elusive Dogtooth Tuna. I'll be there for three weeks. As mentioned before these choice weeks go quickly, and i booked these weeks straight after my last tour there. For next year, get a group of min 4, and lets go shoot/ catch some pb fish! Week 5th may to 11th may is a rod and reel fishing week. Still space for two fishermen. 22k zar each. Includes unlimited fishing (mostly jigging/ popping), food, bunk berth, soft drinks airport transfers from Quelimane airport.
June back at the lodge. Its a good fishing month with premarily south east winds that clean the water. Sailfish, wahoo, Yellowfin tuna, bigger cutas are around. Still a few gaps here to fill. Mid July , to end August the lodge will be closed, as i take leave, and go visit family.
September always a good sailfish, wahoo and tuna month, then October and November prime time for Lazarus banks. A crazy place that comes off the ocean floor 2 km deep to 10m. 5 night liveaboard trips. October and November is prime Marlin targeting time.
